Rituximab Options

Hi everyone just a question, I am due to have my first infusion of rituximab on Wednesday but have a chesty cold, do you think I will be able to have it, any answers would be great , Carole

Make sure you let them know before they set up the infusion Carole. It's not worth having a bad reaction for the sake of delaying the infusion a week or so. I had a couple of strange spots the day of my infusion last December but didn't say. I had a bad reaction to the infusion - and a full dose of shingles 3 days later!

If you are not feeling well, don't have anti tnf's that week because it wipes the immune system....and you need to fight more when you have a cold.

Have you got a rheumy helpline for hospital? Or ring NRAS helpline.

I am on Rituximab and the very 1st question when the doctor comes to the ward on Rituximab day is , do you feel well.
